A book showing three glances at the subjugation of the South Pole, to which two expeditions went simultaneously
The publication combines the opinion of journalist Roland Huntford in the book Conquering the South Pole. The leadership race» and the two expedition commanders' stories described in their diaries: Robert Scott, «Polar Captain’s Diary» and Rual Amundsen, «South Pole».
Visually, the book is divided into two parts, each taking over the text from the captains' diaries of the expedition. The journalist ' s text is the main one, and it covers both columns.
By content, the book is divided into three parts.
1. Before the expedition: a journalist’s text, supplemented by quotations from both diaries 2. Main tour: Text from diary 3. After the expedition: the journalist’s text, supplemented by quotations from one diary
The trivalency of the texts becomes the basis for the book ' s variability
