The World Afterglow
The afterglow world is the post-apocalypse in which the mystical power, the Darkness, came down to Earth. She absorbs everything and drives her victims crazy. After the first Night, the passage of time ceased to be logical, so the darkness may suddenly come, even if it was a clear day a minute ago.

This world may seem empty at first sight. Human tracks are slowly erased, and the rest of the people are hiding in the walls of continuously lit cities where darkness cannot reach. But there are people out there looking for answers. They’re called Travelers.

In his dreams, QB often hears whales singing, although he has never seen real whales. They’re like echoes from a past he’s never been in. Maybe they’re calling him with them?
In darkness, ordinary creatures can’t survive. But those who can cope with its vexing power and open their eyes will meet the echo of the past — glowing creatures that always swim in the same direction. Maybe where the truth is hidden.

Person QB-09
QB-09 is a human-conscious robot created in the early days of darkness. He has no memories of life before, and the present world is the only one he knows. However, QB feels that lost memories are not only important to him. He’s sure there’s an answer to why the world became like this, so QB made it its goal to bring them back.

QB loves light. Anything that glows at all. And while his world slowly envelops the darkness, like a caustic, icy fog, swallowing more and more, there are still fireflies. QB calls them the echo of light.
Afterglow lamp props
Darkness is death. Unless there’s a light source nearby. Therefore, survivors always carry with them emergency lamps and lamps so as not to lose their minds if the darkness suddenly strikes them. The QB Lamp is a prototype version of the Aftererglow, the only version created. It’s charged from a crystal of light, unlike normal electrical models that require backup batteries.

Work Process
The idea began with the idea of a robot alien in a world where light literally equals life. In the process of creating the art concept, the image of QB-09, a robot that resembles a firefly that always carries a lamp with it. Then the idea began to grow in detail and in its own world, and QB began to grow in its 3D model. The character’s sculpture was first created in Zbrush. After that, Maya 3d was used to retopology the model, UV splashing and rig based on Advanced skeleton. Textures were drawn by Substance penter. The last stage was the creation of a location and synematics in Unreal Engineering 5, which told a small story from QB’s life.
