The Terezin Quarter is dedicated to the prisoners of the Terezienstadt concentration camp, where between 1941 and 1945 33,000 people were killed by the Nazi regime and 88,000 deported to Auschwitz and other death camps. Terezin was released by Soviet forces on 9 May 1945.
