Central Station (Central do Brasil) is set in Brazil in the 1990s, a period marked by deep social inequalities and widespread illiteracy.

Rio de Janeiro’s central train station symbolizes a chaotic urban space where poverty, loneliness, and abandonment intersect. Through Dora and Josué’s journey to the Northeast, the contrast between the big city and poorer rural regions quickly becomes apparent. The film portrays a society in which institutions are largely absent and individuals must rely on one another.

From a cinematic perspective, the film belongs to the renewal of Brazilian cinema (Retomada), characterized by a realistic style, natural settings, and a focus on ordinary people.

COLOR PALETTE

post

The colors were chosen in reference to the warm and authentic tones found in certain Brazilian countryside homes, evoking a sense of comfort, simplicity, and shared home life.

LOGO

The logo is built around the CUBANO typeface, chosen for its bold, friendly, and approachable character. This typography conveys warmth, stability, and accessibility, reflecting the welcoming spirit of La Maison des Liens.

A distinctive feature of the logo is the customized «A» in the word «Maison», which has been modified to resemble the shape of a house. This subtle visual transformation reinforces the idea of home, shelter, and belonging.
