FilmART Connect. Alternative movie posters for Külön Falka (Wild Roots, 2021), created as part of a collaborative competition hosted by Budapest Metropolitan University and HSE University
Concept
What interested me most in the film was the contrast between Niki and Tibor. Niki approaches the world through imagination and play, while Tibor carries the weight of his past. To translate this relationship into a poster series, I built a system of recurring symbols taken from the film itself: (1) the accented letters Ö and Ü, which become stand-ins for the two characters, (2) Niki’s crown, barbed wire, and (3) footprints inspired by the sneakers that play a key role in the film, appearing as traces of the two protagonists throughout the series.

Handwritten Typography
For the title lettering, I developed a custom handwritten type inspired by children’s writing.
The letters are intentionally uneven, awkward and slightly unstable. While they retain a sense of innocence, they also contain a nervous, restless quality.

Poster Series
The series combines standalone posters and paired compositions. Together, they explore different ways of telling the same story — through the separation of the protagonists and their reunion within a shared visual space.
