Visual study on the study of Chinese street food. The aim was to find out how part of China’s cultural code manifests itself through the visual identity of street food.
In different formats, the book conveys the idea of structured chaos. Enlarged in comparison to the main stripes, the Schmutituls create a frame on which the colonituls are placed.
In the book, the Schmuctituls are increased in size, creating a color frame that serves as a columnist.
Each chapter is separated by a certain color, which makes navigation easier by book.
The main message is highlighted by an enlarged track and an emphasis that symbolizes the wrong street line.
Painting signatures are not divided into blocks and are written behind each other, which conveys chaos and the sense of confusion that arises when visiting street food markets.
Images often connect with each other, which refers to a large number of establishments that can be found in small areas. They’re marked by the numbers in the flaps that send them to the Chinese whirlwind.
At the end of each chapter, a list of image sources is placed in front of the Schmuttituls, as photographs help to begin to sink into a new culture. These twists also form a frame.
