Жан Кокто — французский режиссёр, драматург, художник, поэт. Сновидческая ирреальность — главная форма воплощения его идей. Он стремился к синтезу слова, движения и образа — к созданию тотального, всеобъемлющего искусства. В содержание книги «Когда птицы поют пальцами…» вошли стихотворения и театральные пьесы, которые получают визуальную интерпретацию через образы Кокто. Античность здесь становится точкой отсчёта, как и в самих произведениях автора.
Книга посвящена исследованию цветовых решений в фильме Михаила Локшина «Мастер и Маргарита» (2024). Каждый раздел описывает символизм, смысл, применение в кинокартине и в романе Михаила Булгакова определенного цвета. Книга — результат работы над дипломным проектом, выполненным в рамках учебного курса «Графический дизайн» в Британской высшей школы дизайна. Кураторы — Дмитрий Краснов, Михаил Шеттлер.
