I combine my design training with the development of SWIT’s personal clothing brand. Each new brand collection comes from a special state that characterizes the inner world of man. This time, Cinema4D as well as RedShift were able to develop a conceptual logo for the new SAFENESS brand line.
How was the material chosen to create the 3D logo?
WHY, AS MATERIAL, DID THE TEXTICAL FACTURE BE FACILITATE? It’s the second skin. The tissue is the first protective layer of man after skin. The use of the textile surface in the logo linked the body, clothing, protection, security and brand itself. Soft textures subconsciously reduce anxiety, are associated with heat, hugs. In this case, the logo works not only visually, but also at the level of physical memory.
The use of Cinema 4D helped to work with soft plastic. The logo’s letters don’t look built up — they look like formed pressure, air, and internal volume.
The choice of ambient lighting is the key to the sense of the SAFENESS clothing line. The soft diffuse light that Redshift has created works here as a tool to transmit materiality and light as emotion, visual light is counted as safe. The warm background of space reinforces the feeling that the logo is in an emotionally comfortable environment, not in a cold digital space.
Animation of the logo made it possible to show literally what safety looks like in action. Despite the impact of the letters, it happens naturally, slowly, gently. It’s a direct metaphor for psychological and physical safety. The outside world around a person can push him, events, encounters, emotions, but if there’s a so-called soft environment, the strike doesn’t destroy. Letters in motion act like some kind of airbag.
Safety is not the absence of blows. Safety is the system’s ability to mitigate impact.
