The movie tells a story about Cinderella from a nasty half-sister.
It’s a fairy tale film that’s built on glamorous presentation of disgusting or bodi-chorror moments. The same technique has been used in titres: beautiful fonts with veselles and curved letters made of plastic without clear shape are next to each other.
This material is also a metaphor: the main hero is trying to redo and rewrap into a beautiful woman, which she does not consent to, because she is in love with a prince who would never choose her true.
Some letters reflect what heroines had to endure to create a better version of themselves.
She had her nose broken with a tablet to remove the hunchback.
She swallowed a «magic medium» to lose weight: an egg that later developed huge ribbon worms inside her.
And perhaps one of the most awful changes taken from the original Grimm Brother’s fairy tale: an ugly sister chops off a part of her leg to fit into Cinderella’s shoe and become perfect for her beloved Prince.
