Exhibition «Caliningrad Munich», 2025

Full title: «Caliningrad Munich. A museum of new mythology.» While museums argue that the more important thing in museums is an object or concept, because of the tacit prohibition of «historical materialism» concepts there are very one-sided concepts, and objects serve only to illustrate them, or as a non-binding addition to symbolic art objects. It seems that only kings, merchants, and dinosaurs lived in Russia, who thought for themselves the good of the country, until they were prevented from abroad and the rest of the population, who suddenly ceased to sow, mow and sing folk songs in embroidered shirts. The apothesis of historical volontarianism is the Museum of New Chronology in Lower Novgorod, which claims that the Kulikov battle did not really happen under Toula, but in the center of Moscow on the Kulici. This is supported by domestic pseudo-historic series, where the right interpretations are no longer dependent on museum exhibits and expertise. Shabourov’s artist and his teammates in the Blue Nose group Misin and Ivanov decided to capture firsthand the cavardack in the heads of the compatriots, the victims of the EEG and the Internet memes, and created a project for a parody museum of new mythology. The exhibition collected all the most diverse historical myths (Ivan Grozny kills his son, Peter I builds Petersburg on the bones, and Lenin takes money for the revolution from Wilhelm II) and long-lost counterfeits (Cisson’s documents, Dolles' Plan, etc.). A dozen new ones have been added, which, of course, are fictional and are designed to motivate the viewer to think critically, as well as to distinguish fairies from facts. All of this was taken and installed as a key at the Kaliningrad Museum of the Soviet House of Whitboy, organized by Sasha and Natasha Bychenko, in just four days. Learn, you lunatics!

With the intention of making an exhibition in Kaliningrad, the blue nose art group decided that there was no point in competing with local regionalists in the knowledge of the facts or the legend. It’s all long and talentedly described in a variety of guides and illustrated children’s books. We have chosen a more paradoxical method — not to represent what was, but what wasn’t. At the same time, it is the porridge that reigns in the heads of our fellow citizens, the victims of the EGE, the Internet-based publicity, and the modern series. Although if historical materialism is abandoned, even in museums it is now possible to find the most fantastic concepts.

There are many meetings of savages, forgerys, and mystifications, beginning with the earliest cunstchambers and reliquaries. But the most appropriate analogy is Ripley’s network of museums, «Would you believe it or not!» in 1920, an artist, a traveler and journalist Robert Ripley (1890–1949) used the same name column in a newspaper that told unusual facts from around the world. The column became a radio quiz, then a cartoon and a television show, and then a network of museums. At the peak of popularity, there were 32 Ripley Museums — in New York, Los Angeles, London, Copenhagen, Pattaie, Hong Kong, Jakarta, and others. So why not supplement them with myths that are similar to those that are myths, and with all the media that need to be recognized and disproved?

The site of our exhibition is Kaliningrad (Königsberg until 1946). The most common celebrities are Kant, Hoffman and Griskovec. That’s why we won’t have them! Our vault is Baron Munich, who visited Koenigsberg in 1738 and 1750, but is still considered to be a minor and has not taken a place in mythology that is proportional to Kantu. We will present to the audience unknown visits to Kaliningrad Ivan Grozny, Petr I, Lenin, Stalin, Mayakovsky, Wysotski, Solzhenitsyn, Allen Dalles, Wolf Messing, Wanga, Khrushchev, Gorbachev, Yeltsin, Trump, Sherlock Holmes, Cheburashka, and other media celebrities, and we will record this on the streets. It’s a cross-reference with myths that are similar to history and long-discovered fakes. Their list is Ivan Grozny’s library, Petra the Great’s will, Zion’s wisdom records, Cisson’s documents and Küllman’s telegram, Lenin’s will, secret protocols to the Molotov-Ribbenthrop package, mystery of the location of the «cantar room», Chrushchev’s secret report at the 20th Congress of KPSS, Dalles' plan, Dyatlov’s riddle and other secrets from the «secret folder of the President of the USSR». All of this is accompanied by artifacts and Victorian artifacts found. The exhibition is a parody and aimed at stimulating interest in domestic history, wanting to know how it really was.

Baron Münghausen flew on a cannon core to the Bender Fortress during the Russian-Turkeyian campaign of 1738. Ivan IV, in his personal messages, sometimes signed as Parfenia Ugly. In the false «Peter the Great’s Will» was ordered to be friends with Britain and attack France. Both the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers support the Vatican Council for Inclusive Capitalism. The writer and adventurer Ferdinand Ossendovsky is the author of the fabricated «Cisson documents» concerning Lenin’s receipt of German money. Joseph Stalin wasn’t involved in any bank robbery. At the same time, Bolshevik Kamo (Simon Ter-Petrosyan) was in charge of the robbery of the Tiflis Bank in 1907. Vladimir Mayakovsky sang everything in his poems except for Martian. However, in his play «Bania» (1929), a Phosphoric woman appeared from 2030. The murder of U.S. President John Kennedy in Dallas was motivated and apparently involved all the organizations listed. The «Plan of Psychological War against the USSR» prescribed a contrast between the «totalitarian regimes» and the «free world». Alexander Solzhenitsyn wrote «the art study» «Gulag Archipelago» (1958–1968). At the last concert in Kaliningrad at the Youth Sports Palace on June 22, 1980, Wysotsky received a note: «Stop talking, sing!» All the listed candy was sold in Soviet stores, at least until the 1991 «Pavlov monetary reform». The first and last president of the USSR, Gorbachev, was released in 1997 in the Pizza Hut commercial. Russian President Boris Yeltsin said all this when he addressed the U.S. Congress on June 17, 1992. None of Wang’s listed «said». Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, the US has carried out 15 military operations against other countries.
