Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, founded by the Communist Party of China in 1938, is the ‘cradle of new Chinese fine arts’, with the name and motto: ‘sensuality, seriousness, diligence and modesty’ defined by Mao Zedong. In 2019, the School of Art was included in China’s World First-Class Universities and First-Class Academic Disciplines Construction program.
