The project reinterprets the film within the context of contemporary culture, where constant informational noise replaces the space of silence.

L’Artiste is a contemporary cultural platform — a space of silence, pause, and attention. The project translates the ideas of the film into a relevant modern context and explores how they can exist today within the urban environment. The film tells the story of the transition from silent cinema to sound — a moment when the old language has already disappeared and the new one has not yet formed. This in-between state became the foundation of the project. Here, silence is understood not as an absence, but as a space where meaning emerges.

The name L’Artiste is kept the same as in the original film.
It plays a symbolic role and goes beyond the image of a single character. An artist is someone who constantly changes, takes on different roles, and adapts to new conditions.
Similarly, we adapt ourselves to different eras, new technologies, and new forms of communication.

L’Artiste is not a commercial brand, but a cultural platform or space.

It exists through a visual identity system: posters, typography, printed materials, urban applications, and digital media. The black-and-white aesthetic references silent cinema and reinforces the idea of silence.
