ANTIC is an annual design school event that is designed by freshmen for seniors.
This year, the theme of the anti-homogeneous was «Wrong Party», where several holidays crossed over, because someone confused the invitations!
The main tasks of the decoration department were:
— Creation of humourers and ideas on the theme: wedding, Emo, Bimbo, birthday, New Year’s Day. — Creation of a decor of various materials: foam, cardboard, atlases, packaging paper, and paints. — The decoration transport is safe and sound, as well as the dismantling.
The whole set for the event was created within the walls of the Design School. The polite staff and the administration have given us a workshop, for which we are very grateful!
Ullana, the head of the department’s decorator, coordinated the whole process from beginning to end, and created the entire decor with us. Sasha, the department’s decorator, built unkillable structures, cut foam, cut out uniforms, and glued paperboard. Nastya, the department’s decorator, helped both technically and artisticly to ensure that the work was carried out evenly.
How, then, was the decor for the ANTIC 26?
Moodboards and Search
It all started with hoods and ideas: the task was interesting because it was necessary to combine five whole holidays in one place! Without a thoughtful approach, the risks of mixing them all together were great, so the team and I came to a common color palette of decoration areas — black and pink colors became bonding, and allowed us to develop decoratives from different zones that were combined.
The most interesting thing is the creation of a decor.
We needed systemicity, so we clearly defined the days of work and distributed the tasks to all.
We had a lot of material, but most of all was the paper we used to decorate almost the entire decor. It is this paper that I think created the atmosphere of our one holiday.
Decoration materials
We created five bright New Year’s gifts, three voting boxes, tied over 30 small bows and big baths, but the hardest part was ahead…

It wasn’t easy to create tombstones, but it was interesting because we were fighting foam, which was later found in the most unexpected places.
Sasha cut the shapes out of the foam, which was long enough because the foam was very thick and crumbled. As a result, Sasha came up with the best option and the work accelerated. Nastya took over the sanding of the tombstones so they wouldn’t fall asleep at the feast and the paint would lie well on the surface.
Painting and result.
After the shapes were cut, the only thing left was to paint the tombstones. We tried different materials, but most of all, the acryl that survived the event and stayed intact after.
The most difficult task is to create two big cakes, one of which is to be jumped out by a man…
It’s a birthday cake that’s unkillable. Sasha designed it so it wouldn’t fall apart under any circumstances. We also made him a team so he could be comfortable in transport.
The second cake was made to decorate the Wedding Gender Party area. He went out bigger because a man was supposed to sit inside. It was important to ensure that the large lid was easily opened and that the structure remained intact after all the activity. The team and I rehearsed jumping out of the cake to make sure the design worked well before decorating the rest.

At the event, the guests voted on who they wanted more from a gender parade, a boy or a girl, so we had an interesting interactor with our decor. And who sat in the cake can be found in the next section about how our party went!
Ulyana coordinated the transport of the decor so that all the details would arrive safely.
How’d DSG Antic 26 go?
Work began a few hours before the event, as Sasha and Ulyana were transporting the entire decor to the site. At that time, Nastya assisted the coordinator in the purchase and transportation of the right drinks and products. Later, we all decorated areas together, set up decorators, inflate balloons, put up spiders and rains, and helped the entertainment department organize space.
Many guests liked the gifts from our New Year’s Zone, someone even tried to take one to themselves!

A lot of people liked the wedding-gender patie area, and it was also one of the big ones. She had a whole room where you could take pictures of the balloons, write wishes to the newlyweds on the board, or just take a break from the dance floor. Also, any guest could have climbed into a wedding cake and taken a few pictures!
Beautiful marriage-gender pati area.
Who do we have, a boy or a girl?
Congratulations! You’ve got Halyan.
The birthday zone is the most popular for our guests!
In this neon zone, you could rest on a soft couch, take pictures with the cake under the pink neon, vote for the king and queen of the Design School, and play ping-pong!

This place had a very special atmosphere, because from these areas the view of the entire dance floor was opened.
Our work at the event
All night, Nastya and Sasha were helping the guys at the bar, giving out drinks, resupplying supplies, and keeping clean. They were also guarding the pizza so that all the guests could eat! In addition to working at the bar, Sasha also patrolled the event to ensure that all guests were safe.

Ulyana monitored the order, including the decorator areas, to ensure that nothing was damaged and interacted with guests and entertainment. Towards the end of the event, we were all cleaning up the halls and carefully packing all the decorators so that they could be reused at our future events.
Eat and sleep
When the event ended, the organizers from the other departments wanted to take pictures of our tombstones. It’s been a pleasure!
Comments and reviews!
That’s what our guests said…
After the event, the organizers also launched Google forms in order to obtain a detailed Fedbeck from our guests.
The decorator satisfaction statistics are estimated from our Google form.
Most people ranked the decor, which we are very happy to see!
Our event was truly awesome because of the daily work of dozens of people, as well as the Heds and the coordinators. Everyone was responsible for their division, for their task, from which we eventually created something more.
I would like to express my special gratitude to Spiridon Diana and Isaeva Dominica for the excellent organization, Lang Ilje for the quality of the photos, Zaichenko Lvva for the excellent designs, Saturday Catherine for the sound budget allocation, Zachara Arina for the wonderful entertainment, and to the Mesher Rada for the cool organization of the bar!
