The project presents alternative credits for the film «The City of God,» rethought through the Russian context. I built them into urban textures and everyday objects — newspapers, advertisements, cigarettes — to emphasize that social problems and environments shape similar stories in any city.
The main idea of the credits is to show, through the image of the city, that a «city of God» can occur in any country. If social problems are ignored, the environment begins to form violence and a vicious circle, regardless of geography.
The story is based on a sense of ringing and clapping, and attention is constantly returning to different parts of the same place. This highlights the idea that the main heroes are in the same environment, but they perceive it differently, and they can’t come out of it.
