CONCEPT
The project rethinks the Belarusian national costume as a form of tactile communication between people, bringing back through clothing the sense of body and presence in the era of distance and digital exclusion.
Arthur Klinov, Sweet Salmon Life
Arthur Klinov, Sweet Salmon Life
Arthur Klinov places straw — an important cultural symbol — in a new artistic context, creating «salted Belarusians», some of the golems torn by contradictions of identity. In the «Sweet Salt Life» cycle, these shapes, made not of clay, but of straw as a material of «Belorussianism», embody East-West conflict, activity and passivity. Through them, the artist shows a situation of constant choice in which Belarusians find themselves.
Byelorussian climate group, conquering Belarusian deserts
" The Belarusian Climate «, the subjugation of Belarusian deserts
The idea of performance, according to artists, came from the feeling that there was no historical narration: in the Belarusian context. The artists thought it was like deserts that had to be conquered and created their myths. The story is in line with the postmodern concepts of derritorization and deconstruction: the traditional and stereotypical perception created by ideologies, meta-tales, had to be deconstructed.

Olga Sazikina, Dialogue, or Petal Planter
Olga Sazykina’s installation is built around a tablecloth object composed of private letters, composed of petals. A letter replacing a live conversation becomes a metaphor for the lack of dialogue as a body. Two chairs on both sides of the table form communication space, but there are no people in it: only text is present as a trace of lost contact. The work shows how words take on the role of touching, and correspondence becomes a surrogate of physical presence.
